I own a gold wristwatch (worth $200-$300). Does it make sense to keep it instead of selling it hoping it will become an antique? I don’t wear it, so I plan to keep it in mint condition. Does it make sense to hold on to it for a few decades, maybe hand it down to my son, etc.? What’s the chance of it becoming rare as an antique? Does anyone else do this? Is it common?

Originals meaning from famous artists, such as Davinci (although I bet all of those are in museums), and antiques such as some of the first Mercedes-Benz’s to become.

Thanks!

A mama pheasant or grouse with her young. It’s a snow scene, dated 1941, though we don’t know if that’s origin or purchase date.

I have some french vintage keyrings, about 30yrs old, and I love the illustrations inside them but cannot bring myself to ***** them open to get at them. Instead I would like to scan past the scuffed casing but don’t have the technology or knowhow - does anybody know of a professional UK service that can?

I love the antiques roadshow and things of that nature. I would like to learn more about antiques (NOT TO BE a PRO)!
I would just like to learn more from books or websites or whatever. I can’t go to classes because I’m kinda housebound but would still like to learn more. Thanks!
Yes I know I said I wanted to learn from books but I was hoping you could recommend some specfic ones! :)
